Post-retirement event coming to South Bristol
A post-retirement event is coming to South Bristol in November – to help those aged 55 plus to manage the shift into the next phase of their lives.
Organised by charity LinkAge Network in collaboration with The Anchor Society and Business in the Community – the free Post-Retirement Opportunities (PRO) event at Ashton Gate Stadium is one of several showcasing the range of opportunities and advice on offer in and around Bristol.
Aimed at people thinking of retirement or facing redundancy – the event will focus on the areas of money, work and volunteering as well as learning, leisure and health and wellbeing.
With guest speakers, workshops, and representatives from a range of organisations – attendees will also have the opportunity to share ideas, hear from those with retirement experience and meet people at a similar stage in life.
PRO Events Coordinator Sarah Parkes said: “Retirement is a major transitional phase in life, and can lead to worries about money, social isolation and a loss of purpose.
“PRO events offer the opportunity to gather the information needed to help plan for a happy and fulfilling retirement in a social and informal setting – over some free drinks and nibbles!
“We have a great guest speaker lined up for the event in November – retired headteacher and blogger Julia Skinner. Julia will be sharing insights from her own retirement journey, including re-finding her purpose, discovering social media and that ever tricky work-life balance!”
The PRO event will be taking place on Wednesday 28 November, from 6-8pm, at the Sports Bar, Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, BS3 2EJ. It is FREE and open to anyone aged 55+.
Booking is essential – visit www.linkagenetwork.org.uk/pro or call 0117 353 3042.
