New magnificent magnolia trees on Filwood Broadway

Filwood Broadway welcomes two new trees to its growing plant life

Knowle West’s local Tree Champion and resident Jim Smith has just had two new magnolia trees planted on Filwood Broadway.

They were paid for by the small grants that have been awarded to local groups and organisations by Knowle West Alliance.

Submitting a bid to have more trees planted on the Broadway green, opposite Filwood Community Centre, Jim successfully secured the £100 grant and the trees were planted by the One Tree Per Child group initiative, which are part of Bristol City Council.

He said: “Go and see them during your healthy walking session. See if you can identify them by name? Take photographs. I will label them in due course and you can return to see if you were correct!”

The two additional magnolia trees have joins the existing three tulip trees, three silver birch and single magnolia.
