Residents have until 6 January to have their say on new housing planned for three sites in Knowle West.
- Leinster Avenue, (next to Knowle DGE Academy) – a new post-16 school building and up to 74 new homes. These would be a mixture of apartments and houses of between one and four bedrooms along with landscaping.
- The old cinema on Filwood Broadway – three options for either 34, 36 or 40 residential units ( housing and apartments) in a mixed use scheme including community space.
- Kingswear Road – current option shows 32 new homes. These would be a mixture of apartments and houses of between one and three bedrooms and landscaping. Larger houses would include a built-in garage with additional parking provided on-street.
In a separate scheme, BoKlok is also planning 200 new homes for land on Airport Road, near the entrance of Creswicke Road and will be showing the full plans on Monday 9 December at Filwood Green Business Park from 6-9pm.
Local people turned out to view the plans at two events yesterday (5 December) at Filwood Community Centre in the afternoon and Knowle West Media Centre in the evening – where Bristol City Council housing officers were on hand to answer questions.
The plans will be now be on display at The Park in Daventry Road, Filwood Community Centre (ask in the office), and Knowle West Media Centre with bound copies available in re:store and local libraries.
Feedback forms will be available at the above Alliance sites (not the library) and should be filled out and put in the feedback box before 6 January 2020.

Knowle West Alliance is a group of active residents, organisations and businesses which provides a collective community voice and lets people know what’s going on so they can have some influence.
Members have been letting local people know about these housing plans so they have the chance to give feedback.
Alliance Co-ordinator Lucy Holborn says: “Please chat to your neighbours and friends and get them to get involved too – we can make this work for our community – but we have to get involved.”
Further consultation is planned in early 2020 to show how Bristol City Council has responded to feedback. People will be invited
to comment on the preferred options before full planning applications are submitted around the end of February.
