Go behind the scenes at Open Doors Day
by Community Reporter Helen Prince

Local people will be given the chance to peek inside Bristol’s hidden gems this weekend when Bristol Doors Open Day returns.
In Knowle West, Filwood Green Business Park will be inviting members of the public to tour its spaces supporting small green businesses. Visitors can see how the Factory – a community led enterprise, uses digital fabrication technology to create sustainable products.
Business Development manager Justin Ricks explains: “We are really pleased to be opening the doors of KWMC The Factory for the first time at Bristol Open Doors day this Saturday.
“Visitors will have the chance to see behind the scenes of The Factory and all of the digital manufacturing equipment.
“ They will be able to find out how they can become involved in accessing the space through training and volunteering opportunities – and see examples of the great range of projects that KWMC provides.”
Also in the local area is The Bottle Yard Studios on Whitchurch Lane. The production studio will be allowing the public behind-the-scenes access to where Sherlock, Wolf Hall and Poldark have been made.
At Hengrove Mounds, there will be a day of festivities with a day of music, dance, food and costumes.
