Meeting to talk about Public Art in Knowle West (in person and online)

April 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm

With so much housing and other developments happening in Knowle West – what is the potential for public art in the area?

People living and working in Knowle West are being invited to a meeting on 22 April to talk about public art in the community – and help create an approach for the neighbourhood.
Discussions will include what we mean by public art; there are many different forms including community-led events, permanent installations and co-designed public seating.
Aims for these can range from telling the story of Knowle West, welcoming new residents and imagining the future to encouraging play or more use of green spaces.
What good examples already exist in the neighbourhood and beyond and how can we create a strategy together?
There will be space for six people to attend on 22 April from 10 – 11.30am outside Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) on Leinster Avenue (weather dependant) and others can join on zoom.
If you would like to come along, please RSVP to: Martha.king@kwmc.org.uk and state whether you would like to come to KWMC or join virtually.
The session will be followed up by another meeting the week after, to take ideas further. We suggest 29 April 10-11.30am but are open to set a time that works for most.
