The Joy of Dance – live music and dance

October 17, 2020 @ 7:00 pm

Kickstarting live dance and music performances and encouraging cultural integration

About this Event

Come and watch this eclectic dance and music performance including:

Alexandra Pickford opening this programme with a taster of her Dance in the Park project in which people express themselves through inspirational music and movement. You will be invited to join in!

Also free live African dance workshop with renowned dancer and teacher Norman Stephenson ( Rubba) – in the heart of Bristol.

Listen to our harp recital by the wonderful Scarlett Smith.

Enjoy the work of well-regarded Bristol based actor and poet Edson Burton. Fresh from his recent success at Bristol Old Vic, he is sharing some new work with us this evening.

Alexandra and friends, mature professional dancers, have choreographed two dances to express their joy in dance as a taster from their Joy of Dance project.

Add to that song routines from the Great American Songbook era to make you smile and possibly cry!

Our outdoor yet undercover venue where you can bring your own refreshments, allows you to be in full view of the action yet COVID safe.

Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Free but cash donations welcome to pay for venue hire.
