• Filwood Community Centre is having a £10m facelift – it’s not being knocked down, but totally transformed. The centre will be bigger, with better facilities including a new library, public living room and new community spaces.
• Filwood Broadway will have the street, pavements and greenspaces improved to make it safer, pedestrian friendly and a place where we will all want to stay longer. The new play area is the start of these improvements and was opened by Christ the King School 2023.
• At the former Cinema site we are building 30 new affordable homes (24 social rent council homes and 6 shared ownership homes), two new spaces for shops/community uses. This is starting in November 2024.
• Some of the existing shops will have their shop fronts improved (Sandwich Stop side) and there are plans to rebuild shops, homes and community space at no 4-16 Broadway (Former cinema side)
• Filwood Playing Fields will have a new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) for everyone to enjoy.
