Statement from Knowle West Alliance Founders

In March 2019 Knowle West Alliance was launched with the aim of building on the strengths of community and organisations to grow positive action in Knowle West. Over this time many activities have happened, grants been given and relationships built. The concept of the Alliance was unique at the time and has been continuously developing over the last five years.

The 5 founding organisations: The Park, Knowle West Health Park, Knowle West Media Centre, Filwood Community Centre and Re:work have continued to support and oversee its’ development.

We have to announce that Lucy Holburn, our Network Development Director, is leaving KWA for pastures new at the end of September. Lucy has been an incredibly valued member of staff, she has helped steer and support the KWA through some challenging times, such as the covid pandemic, and supported many resident-led action groups to grow, she has been an amazing ambassador for Knowle West, both in this community and citywide. Lucy has advocated for this community in many settings and has achieved many things. We wish her well in her new endeavours and although she will be missed by many, we have reminded her that there are plenty of volunteering opportunities in the community if she has any spare time!

The founding organisations are committed to holding and supporting the development of Knowle West Alliance and we are all excited for the next chapter.
