Hartcliffe Way will be partially closed to traffic between Saturday 8 and Thursday 13 July for road re-surfacing work.
The existing road surface will be removed on 8 July and Hartcliffe Way will be closed to traffic north of Novers Lane.
Metrobus said work was being carried out during daylight hours “to minimise potential noise disturbance to residents.”
The new road surface will be laid overnight from Sunday 9 July with work starting at 7pm each night.
During this phase Hartcliffe Way will be closed to traffic from the Hartcliffe roundabout to Headley Lane.
The section of Novers Lane between Langhill Avenue and Hartcliffe Way will also be closed during this work.
Temporary two-way traffic lights have been installed at the junction of Novers Lane and Hartcliffe Way to enable Wales and West Utilities to divert a large gas main and for the construction of a large retaining wall to support the south bank.
A Metrobus spokesperson said: “The work was due to finish this week, however specialist contractors are required to move the gas main and therefore the work is taking longer than originally anticipated. Therefore the temporary lights will need to remain in place until the 12th August.
“Work on the new Hartcliffe Way bus lane is progressing well and is expected to be completed by autumn 2017.”
