Autumn Litter Blitz back in Bristol
Residents invited to get outdoors and help clean up their local areas
Bristol residents are being urged to grab their welly boots and litter pickers and join this year’s Autumn Litter Blitz across the city which runs for a month from today (15 October).
Emma Williams from Bristol Waste Company, which is leading the campaign, says: “Show the great outdoors a little bit of love by cleaning up your local park, riverside walk, or even the footpath by your house.”
During last year’s event 77 volunteers took part in 42 litter picks across the city – collecting 117 bags of litter between them from Bristol’s streets, parks and shared spaces – and it’s hoped for an even bigger response in 2021.
This year there are no restrictions on group sizes – people can litter pick alone, in large or small groups or as part of a community event.
To get involved, residents just need to organise their groups, decide on a date and book a litter picking kit from Bristol Waste Company.
The event runs from 15 October until 15 November. For more information and to book a kit visit: Autumn Litter Blitz 2021 – Bristol Waste Company or call 0117 304 9022.
