Volunteers are needed for a shared reading project in Bristol Libraries – which aims to help reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing.
Bristol Shares Reading is being developed between The Reader and Bristol Libraries and will run for a year in libraries across the city.
Volunteers will need to be passionate about reading and sharing great literature and will receive full training as Shared Reader practitioners.
They will need to commit to run a group for a year, promote and recruit new members -and will be supported by library staff, other volunteers and Reader Volunteer Co-ordinators.
People attending the groups will be able to hear stories and poems read to them over a cup of tea and can discuss the readings afterwards
The nearest library sessions to Knowle West will be at Knowle Library on Saturday mornings, 10.30am-12 pm; Bedminster Library on Wednesdays, 11am- 12.30pm and Hartcliffe Library on Thursday afternoons from 3-4.30pm.
