A Neighbourhood Meeting is being held at Inns Court Church for local residents to help reduce crime and talk to the police about any issues affecting them.
The Avon and Somerset Police Filwood Neighbourhood team is looking to work with residents and organisations to help tackle some of the problems.
Chair of Knowle West Health Association (KWHA) Carol Casey has helped set up the meeting with PC Ben Blackmore, who is based at Broadbury Road Police Station.
She says the aim is to “tidy up the Inns Court area and be more aware of what is happening” – they will be looking at issues such as anti-social behaviour, speeding cars and dog fouling which people are often complaining about.
She explains: “It’s about the community taking control with the organisations rather than the other way round. and having an input into what happens in their area.
“We can then support people for example with litter picks which we can arrange with agencies. The police can also train people to work with speed cameras to tackle the speeding cars…”
The meeting will be held on Monday 10 July at Inns Court Church in Marshall Walk from 6-7pm. All Inns Court residents welcome.
