Saturday 12 September saw the closure of Filwood Broadway for a sunny if windy afternoon of music, food, activities and fun at the Knowle West Fest 2015.
Over 300 local residents came along to enjoy the day which had something for everyone – from showcasing young people’s musical talents and a tea dance in the community centre, to a playbus for young children and delicious food demonstrations. There were also stalls and a Health Zone for information and advice.
Bristol Mayor, George Ferguson congratulated the local organisations and people who had come together to make the festival a success.
The local police brought their horse mounted colleagues, cadets and an armoured van and the fire service brought a fire engine for the curious to sit in.
Film makers and a photographers captured the day and a film will be available in the next few weeks. A big thank you to the volunteers on the day.
Knowle West Fest was organised by Knowle West Together, a group of local organisations. If you would like to join or for further information contact Neighbourhood Partnership Manager Andrew McLean on 0117 922 4446 or 0746 733 5714, or at firstname.lastname@example.org
