The Local Premiere of ‘Flushed Away’, the new Aardman film, raised money for the Knowle West Media Centre’s first straw bale panel for their new eco friendly building.

The screening was a full house with a great atmosphere, lots of laughs for the audience both from special guest speakers and the film and a huge round of applause at the end.

On the evening it was announced that Aardman and UIP would sponsor a straw bale panel from ticket sales, the first of 44 panels that KWMC hopes to gain sponsorship for, from Bristol businesses and organisations. And it’s all very fitting that rainwater harvested from the new building roof will be used to “flush away” the toilets.

Guest Speaker, Oscar winning Animator  and Director Nick Park , from Aardman who attended the premiere said:

Everything I know about the Knowle West Media Centre sounds great and I would like to know more!

Stewart Till, Chairman and CEO of United International Pictures, and chairman of the UK Film Council, who also attended the event said: “SinceDawn [Primarolo, MP, and KWMC supporter] introduced me to the Knowle West Media Centre and I found out about all the great work they do, we were more than happy to help support them with this fundraising premiere.”
