Local Organisations
Knowle West Media Centre

The Knowle West Media Centre runs photography, video, graphics and multimedia projects that benefit the community. Our aim is to use media as a tool to involve people in the regeneration of their communities, and build their skills.
We are an independent charity formed in June 2002, but grew out of many local projects over a period of eight years. We work with many local organisations to develop projects that allow people to express their thoughts and explore issues.
We facilitate the production of the Mouth of the South newsletter for young people, and the Knowle West newsletter, that goes to every home on the estate.
Some of our recent projects include:
- Knowle West Eye – working in several schools to encourage the use of digital media
- Knowle West Tales – bringing together local people and filmmakers and writers to make short films
- Fresh Five – helping to organise the first young people’s film festival in the South West (at the Watershed in July)
We also run traineeships and work experience placements for local young people.
