Are you a drug user or carer who needs a safe place to come for help?

We are an independent charity, with no connection to social services, the police or any statutory agency. We were set up by local mothers concerned about the lack of support and advice for drug users and their families in South Bristol.

At our centre, we now have a professional team who provide FREE confidential advice, counselling, complementary therapies, referrals and family support for drug users and those affected by the drug use of somebody else.

Daniel, a local person who has benefited from their services, told his story of how he became free from Drugs: “I first contacted KWADS for support when I wrote a letter from Prison in 2002. A worker from KWADS visited me in prison and provided support by letters throughout my sentence…I continue to receive acupuncture and one to one support. I would just like to say thanks to all the KWADS workers for helping me to get where I am today.”

Kate Croucher, Chief Executive, said: “It [Daniel’s story] certainly puts all our hard work into perspective – and reiterates our belief in our services – that we so recently had to fight so hard for.”

Dawn Primarolo, KWADS Patron, and MP, said: “KWADS has a unique role to play in tackling addiction in Knowle West. Despite the expansion and change, Kwads has remained true to it’s core values and ethos, and continues to be rooted in the local community. It is absolutely clear to me that Knowle West, and Bristol, would be worse off without KWADS.”

Ear Acupuncture - Mon 2pm, thurs 10 am, at KWADS

Carers services -Themed Carers’ Group, 10 weeks, twice a year, call for dates and location.

Next one due: 13th March ‘07- 15th May ’07. You can attend any or all sessions.

Carers’ Group Drop-in – Thurs 11am-1pm at KWADS.

Structured 1-2-1 Carers’ Support – By appointment during Kwads open hrs (above).

Open Access Support – Sat 10-12 noon, Wellspring Healthy Living Centre, Beam Street, Barton Hill.
