The event is for visitors who live in Knowle West or people with children who go to school in this area. They must have a valid flyer – available from schools, children’s centres and local venues.
The Centre says all ages are welcome to join in – with over 250 interactive exhibits and hands-on activities – from creating a shadow theatre to making a giant bubble.
There will also be story-telling, live science shows – and visitors will also be able to gaze at the stars inside the Planetarium for a small additional fee.
At-Bristol spokesperson Jen Forster said: “As an educational charity, our mission is to “make science accessible to all”, and as part of that, we have a Community Engagement Programme, and run six free ‘Hello’ open weekends a year, each one focusing on a different area of Bristol…”
At-Bristol will also be distributing £4 tickets so people can come back to the science centre for another visit at a more affordable price
The event runs from 10am – 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. For more information visit: www.at-bristol.org.uk/event/hello-knowle-west-community-weekend-2017?date=2017-09-01
