South Bristol residents will be able to get financial advice at a free Money Entitlement Event in Hartcliffe this November.
Hosted by local MP Karin Smyth – the event is designed to give people a better understanding of the financial help they may be eligible for and how to access it.
It will also give local people the opportunity to keep on top of the latest changes to rules around tax credits, pensions and benefits.
Ms Smyth said: “It can be tricky to keep up to speed with the changes to various aspects of financial support.
“That’s why I am hosting this event: to answer any questions residents may have, and to help ensure that people can access whatever support they are entitled to.
“It’s an informal event, which is free to attend, and a chance to get some professional financial advice over a cup of tea or coffee. There’s no need to register – just pop along…”
Representatives from groups including Bristol Citizens Advice, South Bristol Advice Services and Bristol City Council’s Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service will be on hand to answer questions and guide people through the various application processes.
There will also advice on making homes more energy efficient to keep fuel bills manageable as the winter sets in.
The free event is at The Gatehouse Centre, Hareclive Road, Hartcliffe, Bristol BS13 9JN on Friday 30 November from 10am to 12 noon.
