Filwood Park was identified as a neighbourhood priority at a residents Neighbourhood Forum meeting. Residents reported anti-social behaviour, drug dens, drug dealing/taking, youths drinking, nusience motorbikes. Some of these activities reported happening during the late night/early hours of morning.
Bristol City Council, the Police and partner agencies worked together to resolve the issues. A Community Payback team has been working over the park cutting back overgrown brambles and hedges, cutting out drug dens, getting rid of fly tipped rubbish and generally making the area safer for the community to use.
Since the work has happened many residents have remarked on how nice the park is looking and how safer it feels to walk through.
