A new Bristol project is looking for local people to give neighbours, friends and colleagues advice on how to save electricity and gas.
Energy Champions wants to find up to 150 people across all city neighbourhoods and train them to help others lower their fuel bills and have warmer homes.
The scheme funded by Ovo Energy and Bristol Green Capital will last throughout 2015. It is being run in partnership by the Bristol Energy Network, Centre for Sustainable Energy, United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust and Friends of the Earth.
Energy Champion Co-ordinator Elsie Danann explains: “Bristol is full of exciting projects about energy… Energy Champions came about from the desire to pool resources and share volunteers…”
Energy Champions don’t need to know anything about energy when they start as full training is given – with the first session starting in February.
