Community In Partnership
The primary role of Neighbourhood Management (NM) is to understand the needs of residents in the local area, to influence service providers (e.g. Bristol City Council, Avon and Somerset Constabulary) and encourage and enable them to improve their services so that they are better suited to the scale and nature of local needs. To be able to make the decisions locally, a Neighbourhood Management Board has been created called Community in Partnership (CIP).
CIP now leading the way in making these improvements, as they will work to develop and implement the Neighbourhood Plan. This is a document that will shape how the future of the area should look. This will be developed over the next year with input from all local residents.
The Community in Partnership Board brings together elected local residents, community groups, and local agencies (like the police, health and education authorities, council departments, etc) to create a community-led organisation that will campaign for improved local services in the area. The Community In Partnership area includes the Filwood Ward, and parts of Knowle and Windmill Hill wards.
