Branching Out…

Children, parents and staff from Ilminster Avenue Specialist Nursery School and Children’s Centre enjoyed a trip out to Newquay Road playground to take part in tree planting in March. They were excited to be putting on their wellies and going on an adventure. One of the children, Cydney, made a connection to her own garden, saying: “I got flowers in my garden”. She said: “I planted a tree apple. It rained and then it comed out and there was apples on there. I will play with the tree and I will pick apples off.”

Tree Planting

The trees were planted as part of the TreePips project, which aims to give every primary school aged child in Bristol the opportunity to be involved in planting a tree, resulting in over 36,000 new trees in Bristol. For more details visit http://www.bristol.gov.uk/page/environment/tree-pips-project
