It is being delivered by Bristol City Council and Sustrans – and local residents are being asked to have their say at a series of events in the area.
Filwood Councillor Chris Jackson (Lab) who first tried to get a route in 2012 said: “I am delighted there’s now an opportunity to link Filwood for cycling and walking to Templemeads, going through Bedminster and Windmill Hill.
“It will go through the Northern Slopes and Victoria Park … It’s in the early stages and there’s a lot of consultation in all the neighbourhoods with maps and diagrams. It will eventually go to the new hospital in Hengrove…”
Sustrans Senior Urban Designer, South West Flo Marshall said: “Over the next few months, there will be a series of events to enable the community to help shape improvements along the route… Come along to the events and have your say.”
The first consultation took place in Victoria Park this month, with people being able to have a bike check at the same time and the chance to view maps of the route and give their opinion.
The next events will be on 10 March in St John’s Lane and 22 March in Glynn Vale/Northern Slopes both from 4.30-6.30pm.
There is also an online interactive map online where people can add comments along the route and see others’ opinions too.
